Geek Speak & Other Podcast Treats | 02.16.08

I am part of a podcast that is too good to be true. During a live, on-air taping of Kevin McDonald Presents, I actually got caught up in some serious geek speak. I recommend listening to this hilarious podcast that Kevin posted on 2/15. You can find it here.

Also, I’m the featured artist for Tune-In Seattle's live online broadcast of Underground Spring tomorrow (2/17) at 9pm. Join me and host Doug Deems as we discuss any and everything that pops into our overly creative heads.

In case that isn’t enough, host Jay Bates interviewed me regarding my first FAWMER song, “Penelope”, and it will be featured on A River and Sound Review's podcast posted Tuesday or Wednesday this week.

I'm a FAWMER! | 02.04.08

Thanks to peer pressure from a few Seattle songwriters, I have accepted the challenge of becoming a FAWMER and writing 14.5 new songs in 29 days. Little did I know, however, the hundreds of other songwriters around the nation are pros and have already starting posting songs to the jukebox. I'll be sure to update the ol' website when I post a song!

I'm a $1000 Shootout Contestant! | 01.01.2008

In the summer of 2005, I slept in a Wal-Mart tent and drove coast to coast on an independent tour of the United States. Using the Musician’s Atlas as my guide, I found myself in Decatur, Georgia competing in one of the most well-known open mics in the country. It was a stomach flipping experience of a lifetime, and for eight minutes, I was fortunate enough to perform on the same stage where John Mayor and Shawn Mullins were rumored to have gotten their starts. Unfortunately, luck favored the amazing talent from Nashville, and I didn’t make it into the final round.

In the winter of 2007, I stayed at a comfortable hotel and flew to the east coast for business having nothing to do with music. Using a printout from Google maps, I found myself yet again in Decatur, Georgia competing in the aforementioned and still well-known open mic. This time, however, luck favored the amazing talent from Seattle, and I’ll be flying back to Eddie’s Attic in June to showcase and compete in the $1000 Shootout.

Internally, I’m jumping up and down, doing leg kicks, and shouting, “WOOOO!” Externally, well, I’m doing the same thing.

Alive Is Out Of Print | 11.18.2007

After three years of successful sales, my 2004 album Alive is out of print! The last copy was recently purchased from CD Baby, and I’m sad to say no more hard copies will be pressed. Fear not, though. The tunes will still be available for digital download, and you can visit www.cdbaby.com/jerin to find out where.
